Hi, I'm Shawna Lee Hynd
Photography by Shawna Lee began when I was a child. I loved taking photographs of my family and the things we enjoyed doing together. My father was the one who first inspired my love of photography. The memories I have of family hikes and the powwows we attended are incredibly special to me, and they inspired me to continue what he started.
From there, my passion for photography continued to grow. I started back when film photography was still the standard and even took classes at my local community college, where I learned how to develop my own film. It was not always easy back then, between working with chemicals, spending time in the darkroom, finding the right exposure, and not knowing if you got the shot right until the film was finally developed.
That process taught me patience, creativity, and how to truly appreciate the art of photography. What started as a love for capturing family memories grew into a lasting passion and eventually into Photography by Shawna Lee.
